Yes, if the report seems credible, then they will ask the parent to get drug tested. They cannot force someone to get drug tested unless they take the parent in custody. They will ask them to do it, and if they won’t, it will look badly for them.

if the case has merit,CPS moves very quickly to protect the kid and prosecute the accused.the reality is if the parent refuses drug testing the child almost never goes back home to live.the unknown/risk factor is to high.

First, they will protect the child. If you complaint has any merit, the child will be taken away from the home and put into state custody.
If the parent wants his or her child back, he or she would have to go to court. The court will decide what the parent needs to do to regain custody of the child. It could be anger management, drug and or alcohol education, parenting classes, having a safe place to live, etc.. If they find that the parent is a drug abuser, drug testing may or not be ordered.

CPS has NO authority to order drug testing. The courts do that. The parents if they want their kids back have to agree to random testing. They will get a call and have to be at a certain location on a certain day. Kinda hard for the truck drivers. Have a friend who was a lawyer and he said he could not advise his client wheather or not to leave town to do his job. No show = pos test.
