If the problem with wellfare is abuse why dont we drug test?

You could be on to something, but what about the rest of the people who aren’t on drugs? Would they still be able to collect wellfare? And what about the people who ARE on drugs? Would they be offered public assistance to get clean? You can’t solve a problem simply by taking something away from people who have nearly nothing to begin with…

I agree with you, I also think they should be mandated to have to get on birth controll, such as the shot or the implants untill they are productive and no longer use the welfare system..

but this is my personal oppinion and what I believe to be fair to all of us who work …

thank you so much for saying that….. I think that anyone who wants help from the government should have to go through regular drug testing…..I am clean and when I needed some help because of my situation they would not help me…. but I saw someone who i knew did drugs and they handed her over 300 a month in food stamps and a bunch of other benifits….. I to get tested… I did before I got this job and now might when ever they think they need to… Which is fine by me…. I know I can pass it

Ha, I know a girl who is a pot head who has drawn welfare for the past 4 years. She reports to the dhs that her husband isn’t living with her, and he is. Meanwhile people like my family are working their asses off living in moderate living conditions while people like her are living in nice government funded homes with brand new cars sitting out front. It makes me sick. Why don’t they do suprise routine house checks? Drug tests would be nice too.

excellent idea, never thought of that before. i doubt they would get a job, most people on welfare are too retarded to do anything productive with their life, but it would save the government some money
