Body functions breaking down and stopping (depending on the substance)
Brain damage
Death
PRISON
I know a guy who was mixing drugs for a long time and now his left hand is always uncontrollably shaking. It will do this forever!

This question can be answered best if we know the drug in question. Side/abuse effects are different per drug. People who abuse perscription drugs usually run out of meds BEFORE their next refill and will buy them off the street if they can.
