Does The Gov keep Drugs illegal So prices wont drop & they can keep finding Rooms Stacked with untracable CASH

#1Patriot asked:

The Gov. has admitted that the war on drugs can not be won and it is a well known fact that if drugs were legal most kids would not even try them to start (Loses the rebellion factor). Other countries have stopped spending $Billions on enforcement and put that $ into education and treatment all but eliminating drug abuse in these counties. More than 1/2 of the people in American prisons are there on drug convictions,is there a link between the $ being made by those who build and supply the prisons and the donations they make to our law makers. Mexico was 1 day from legalizing small amounts of drug possession to stop all killing in there country, Bush called the President of Mexico and the next day that plan was scrapped, If you follow the $ who stands to lose the most after the Drug cartels who would be put out of biz if drugs were legal?

Drug abuse is a medical problem and should be treated as such.

remember what alcohol prohibition did for organized crime?

just guess what drug prohibition is doing for organized crime!!!

its time to stop this facade of good intentions and show it for what it really is – a war on American people who have not committed an offense against any person and have no put any person in harms way but themselves, which is their God given right to do.

sure drugs are bad, but drug laws are worse. when the laws came into effect back in the 60s, you could go to jail for 7 years for passing a joint to the wrong undercover drug agent. how is that justifiable at all? thats more time than burglery or some types of armed robbery!! should a person get the same sentence for selling a small bag of cocaine as they do for brutally beating their wife and kids? yea i didnt think so…

Here’s my take on one drug. Mary Jane, I think that they haven’t legalized it because they wouldn’t be in control of who buys it, sells it by taxing it. You get a bag and it has seeds, so why not grow your own? There is always someone in our government that gets something out of it. I agree with you 100%. Just make it legal, I mean look at all these LEGAL drugs that have killed people…perfect ex: Heath Ledger. It’s sad, but he was taking LEGAL meds.

Watch the 1950`s movie called “Reefer Madness” I know this film is over 50 years old but it still is the politicians bible on how young people react to drugs. Watch the film and it will answer all your questions, if drugs were legal the goverment would make revenue by taxing it, but they dont wont to be seen taking money from people`s bad habits, although were that puts alcahol and fags I dont know. The goverment shot it self in the foot banning cigarettes, as they are having to find the money that use to come from smokers somewher else. So I reckon give it time they will be legalised when the goverment needs another source of revenue after they have taxed the people to death.

I honestly don’t think that legalizing small amounts of dope is going to stop the killing. I don’t think there is a $ link between the prison system and law makers either. If almost 1/2 of American prisoners are there on drug convictions, well then I’d say they now know how to stay out of prison. If you know something is illegal, then you know if you get caught and convicted you can end up in jail. Why are you complaining? My big complaint is why are you breaking the law and using my tax dollars to force me to support you? The problem isn’t the law. The problem is people who know the law, make a decision to ignore it, and then whine about getting caught. The decison to refuse to use self-discipline hurts the individual, leaves countless children without parents, and uses up resources that could be better used to make our society better as a whole.

You sound like a kid who is angry because he is punished when he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Please quit trying to find ways to absolve people from personal responsibility.

If legalizing dope would help empy our prisons, not doing the dope would prevent them from filling up in the first place.
