xx asked:
This is the second time we broke up. We both have our own problems to figure out, me especially (drugs n alcohol).
I told her that I wanted to change for her, but she wants me to change for myself, and after careful thinking that is what I want to do. I told her this tonight and that I was working on myself and hopefully we can both solve our problems.
I told her when I felt like I was different I would call her so I could see her. She said “Well that better not be too soon, otherwise I’m not going to answer.” I agree that we both need our space and to work on ourselves by ourselves.
I told her that I really care about her and that I’ll miss her a lot. She replied the same to me.
However, the night before we had a conversation where she said she wasnt going to take me back right away (if ever?) And she talked about “being friends.”
When is “too soon” to talk to her (So far, I’ve gone 1 day without drinking/drug use)? Are we going to get back together or does she just want to be friends when we see each other after we have worked out our problems?

RedBone asked:
my wife was an addict before i met her but she was good at keeping it from me. Now things are out of control and if she can’t drink or take pain pills she takes 30+ cold pills. She’s killing herself. Even though she’s going to NA, she still lies, steals, and abuses over the counters. I’ve been told that there’s nothing i can do, is this true? I’ve been told that i have to stop taking care of her. This is killing me. How is a man suppose to walk away and leave his wife and hope that she doen’t kill herself…which she nearly did twice before…Please help me.
