One that night my Friends mother calls and says she ran away, and if she tries to contact me I would get arrested for harboring a fugitive because she put a warrant out for her arrest. I later learned that she only got home late from a friend’s house, whom I suspect gave her drugs of some kind because she was hallucinating according her mother. So her mother decided to call the police station,(not 911) and have her arrested. when the bacon arrived he found no charge to arrest her on so her mother asked if she had any drugs, she said she didn’t. Her mother then proceeded ask if she had cigarettes,( In which case, her mother lets her smoke) she had some her room so the Lt.pork at the scene decided to arrest her on possession of cigarettes. As if people actually get arrested for that. Furthermore she is now in a mental hospital and on Halodol, Nuerontin and Celexia(which are drugs with dangerous side effects and are usually reserved for schizophrenics) Her mother has abused her verifiably.
Doing nothing is not an option
Her mother will not allow contact with her,but can confirm that she has been abused by her mother and stepfather.

Who stands to profit the most from keeping marijuana in its current status? Big medicine? Big tobacco? Big alcohol? Drug cartels?

Also how are drugs like cocaine, methamphetamine, and oxycodone schedule 2 drugs and marijuana is schedule 1 if they are clearly more dangerous drugs than marijuana?

Not everybody on welfare is on drugs, but alot of them I’m sure are. What is your oppinnion?

1) Our local ER is being used as a primary health care center for patients who cannot or will not access care elsewhere. This boggs down the ER with non ermergent cases.
2) Drug seekers use and abuse ER staff while disrupting the flow of care by demanding specific drugs of choice and threatening legal action if not served.
3) Debt is incurred because the EMTALA law states that everyone who comes to the ER is entitled to evaluation and necessary treatment. State & federal MediCare and Medicaid laws state unnecessary treatment will not be reimbursed. How can an ER survive economically?

If someone becomes addicted to a medication prescribed by a doctor, and the doctor is told that the drugs are safe by the FDA and the drug makers themselves, why aren’t the pharmacudical companies being forced to compensate financially the cities that have been most severly affected by prescription drug abuse? Why aren’t lawmakers in Washington doing anything to protect those persons who have no intention of becoming “high” but instead are becoming addicted by the mere nature of the drugs’ addictive properties? Would not such an examination of prescription drugs reduce, to at least some degree, the violence and crime often associated with societies that have people who are addicted to prescription drugs? Why aren’t the drug companies being forced to provide treatment centers, instead of the American taxpayers footing the bill?

Any mature comments relating to the topic are welcomed, as well as any prior experiences with family members or friends who have had prescription drug issues.
