Pain Killer Addiction – Questions & Advice?

Question by Whatever: Pain Killer Addiction – Questions & Advice?
I am 21 years old. I was in a car accident 4 months ago and was prescribed 5mg Vicodin. I was to take 1-2 pills every 4-6 hours. I was only given 30 pills, no refill. Somehow I became addicted and now I’ve been taking 10mg hydrocodone and 10mg oxycodone from dealers on the streets since I ran out of my prescription. I take one pill when I wake up, half’s and quarter pills throughout the day until I go to bed. I am also prescribed .05mg Valium (I do not abuse them though) I am about 5’9″ and weigh about 125lbs.

Q: How would you “rate” my addiction?

Q: What is the safest/best way to quit?

Please add any other advice you would like to share.

Thanks, I really need to get my life back.

I Am Looking for Help With My Drug Abusing Drunk Husband!?

Question by Mary From Wyoming: I am looking for help with my drug abusing drunk husband!?
I asked a question the other day and I got many responses, I was surprised! now I have decided to put my husband into an alcohol treatment center in iowa. can anyone recommend one? It must not be a co-ed facility, I do not want him around other women who are drunks, that will just encourage him, so, what is a good all male alcoholism treatment center?

Don’t know if a center, but I know of something for you. Read this. http://jocelynstorm.wordpress.com/2009/08/30/loving-an-addicted-person/

Answer by Official
You need to get that man into an all male drug rehabilitation center.
I suggest an alternative to traditional twelve step programs; http://www.stgregorycrt.com provides alcohol and drug rehabilitation in Iowa. They do not use the “disease” model, they use the “Life Process Program” developed by Dr. Stanton Peele

Speech disorders can result from a wide variety of things, including hearing loss, neurological disorders, brain injury, mental retardation, drug abuse, physical impairments such as cleft lip and palate, and vocal abuse or misuse.

Similarly, a variety of different disorders exist. They are typically understood as being either “speech” disorders or “language” disorders. “Speech” disorders occur when a person is unable to produce speech sounds correctly or fluently, or has problems with his or her voice. “Language” disorders occur when a person has trouble understanding others (receptive language), or sharing thoughts, ideas, and feelings completely (expressive language).
