Pain Killer Addiction – Questions & Advice?
Question by Whatever: Pain Killer Addiction – Questions & Advice?
I am 21 years old. I was in a car accident 4 months ago and was prescribed 5mg Vicodin. I was to take 1-2 pills every 4-6 hours. I was only given 30 pills, no refill. Somehow I became addicted and now I’ve been taking 10mg hydrocodone and 10mg oxycodone from dealers on the streets since I ran out of my prescription. I take one pill when I wake up, half’s and quarter pills throughout the day until I go to bed. I am also prescribed .05mg Valium (I do not abuse them though) I am about 5’9″ and weigh about 125lbs.
Q: How would you “rate” my addiction?
Q: What is the safest/best way to quit?
Please add any other advice you would like to share.
Thanks, I really need to get my life back.

The best way would be with the help of your doctor.
It’s impossible to ‘rate’ your addiction, someone is either addicted or they are not.
If you must go it alone, cut the amount you take down slowly.
eg instead of 1 pill when you wake, take 3/4, make the halves and quarters you take through the day even smaller. Every few days take less and less.
I thought valium tablets came in 2mg, 5mg, or 10mg.
Instead of wasting your money on pills bought from dealers, please do go and talk to your doctor. It could be made easier for you to quit.
Also drugs bought on the street can be counterfeit.
I wish you all the luck in the world.
