Drug Addiction: My Head Hurts and I’m Going to Try and Lessen the Agony, Ok?
by Leedman
Question by Steve E: My head hurts and I’m going to try and lessen the agony, ok?
All day long, and half of the night
I rose from the sleep,my blanket was tight
Never before had I felt like this
I ran to the bathroom and threw up with a hiss
Slowly back down I walked through the hall
I cried out hello, but no one heard my call
I tried lying down, but jumped up in a flash
I turned on some music, It was Johnny Cash
Now there was a man which I shared a lot
Just like he did, I began with some pot
Moved on through the rest
My insane cry, I wanted the best
Barbituates, crime and then came the speed
Only then did I notice my nose would always bleed
Home many times can you wake on the floor
While the woman you love, packs and slams the damn door
I lie there and think as time passes away
I’ll give all this up God, if I get just one day
But God only laughed, as he’d heard it before
My chest heaved one time, then I fell to the floor
This poem is called “addiction” and it has been 7 years, 212 days and 13 hours since I last did any illegal drug
