Prescription Drug Abuse: Maryland Leaders Want Prescription Monitoring
Gov. Martin O’Malley’s administration is calling on the legislature to implement a prescription monitoring program to combat prescription drug abuse in the state. The system will create profiles of individuals who fill prescriptions. Pharmacists and doctors can access the profiles through a state database as a way to reduce abuse.
