Some people think that when immigrants bring their language and culture, they hurt the national identity of the U.S. Im not sure because although they are hard working it does seem like some refuse to learn english and assimilate. But I guess that’s why there kids go to school here.

This country wouldn’t be what is it of it wasn’t for immigrants. This country was built from the ground up by immigrants, people need to get over it and accept it.

I love how the supporters only state that the country was built on immigrants. Yes, it was. Legal immigrants. This country was also built on laws, and rule of law. Anytime a legal or illegal alien brings their own languages and culture, and hold fast to their languages and culture, then refuse to learn the culture and language of their host country will always hurt and damage the identity of the USA. Just as holding onto their pride of their own countries hurts the identity of the USA.
If they are so proud of their own countries – then they don’t need to bother coming here to the USA and then expect us to put out the welcome mat for them. Especially since they have come running here to help themselves to a better life then they were living in their own countries. Better they stay in their own countries and fight the corruption to get the life they seek. It’s their own countries that oppress them. When they come illegally here, then it is they who help oppress us.
