My Boyfriend Confessed He Had Been Molested Since He Was 15, How Do I Deal With This?
Question by Kiki: My boyfriend confessed he had been molested since he was 15, how do I deal with this?
My boyfriend is now 20. As a child at 15 yeard old, he was brought to the U.S. from mexico by his older brother to live with him and his friend Mario. Mario was about 50 years old at the time and was/still is the leader of a hispanic youth group focused on drug/alcohol abstinence. My boyfriend says that Mario was a role model to him, he was very kind and bought him clothes and food and financially supported him at first. After my bf had been living there for about a month Mario snuck into his room and touched his private areas telling him they were just “exercises” to help him relax. My bf said he was shocked and that he cried but at the same time felt obliged to let him because this man had bought him so many things. After that night my bf told his older brother what Mario had done to him and his brother said that it was okay, that Mario did it to him to and that he neede to relax and let Mario help help him! His brother and Mario are both sick but my bf, having nowhere to go and fearing Mario (Mario murdered 3 men in Mexico prior to coming to the U.S.), had no option but to continue living there. Mario repeatedly tried to touch him again but my bf told him that if he didn’t stop he was going to tell the police what he was doing so Mario stopped for a few years. At about 18 years old my bf found out that Mario not only molested him and his brother but also all of the teenage boys who go to the youth group. Now at 20, and 4 years into our relationship, he confessed to me last night crying about what this man did to him, telling me that Mario kicked him out of the house because he tried to touch him AGAIN after a few years. He wants to press charges but I want to know how much time will this man do in WA state and how can I help him deal with this and how can I deal with this weight put upon me?
