Drug Addiction: Former Drug Addict Helps People With Drug Addiction

A former drug addict in England wants to give hope to other people struggling with drug addiction. Chris Sullivan became addicted to a variety of drugs at the age of sixteen. When he lost his mother and brother because of drugs, Sullivan felt compelled to conquer his own addiction.

That was fifteen years ago and now Sullivan is an established author with the launch of his first book, “The Joy of Quitting Cannibis.” The book is a guide for other people on how to fight their addiction. Sullivan was connected to InBiz, a local company that has provided him with help launching his personal business. Sullivan received advice on everything from making a business plan, to marketing, finance and planning.

“When you’re addicted to a substance, irrespective of what it is, whether drugs or alcohol, you are not always open to getting advice from people who have no way of knowing what you are going through,” Sullivan said. “I truly believe that the reason of my success is largely attributed to being able to personally relate to the ‘issues’ associated with addiction.”

Sullivan now conducts workshops throughout England on addiction and works with charities and organizations that deal with the complex issue of addiction. Sullivan is busy writing another book. He has titled it “How to Quit Cocaine.”

Sullivan is grateful for the fresh start in life. The royalties he receives from the sales of his book in England and around the world means that he is no longer dependent on welfare and can devote himself to his writing and helping other addicts. He is finally free of the chains of addiction.

“InBiz provided me with the confidence and the belief that I could break away from a life on benefits and be my own boss. I’m incredibly grateful for its support.”
