Months After I Stopped Abusing Painkillers I Still Feel Really Mentally Different.?
Question by T Georrson: Months after i stopped abusing painkillers i still feel really mentally different.?
I began abusing drugs about a year and a half ago. I eventually became depedent on vicodin and other opiates. In the time period i was abusing them once or multiple times a day and thats when i started feeling different. I felt kind of numb to everything and i felt uncapable of having emotions. Things looked weird when i looked around, and i was really light sensitive. In a weird way, it kind of felt like i was always high. Not like an opiate.. But everything seemed different in a hard way to explain. Thankfully i found a way out and have been mostly clean for about 4 months now but i still feel a little bit like i did. ALOT less, but still present. Its possible that its all in my head, like i just feel like things are different because im worried about it. Is this symptomatic of anything or is this common with painkiller abuse? I just really dont know whats happening and would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks.
If Prescription Drugs Are Terribly Abused by Teens, Why Isn’t Anyone Doing Anything About It?
Question by Kaden: If prescription drugs are terribly abused by teens, why isn’t anyone doing anything about it?
Prescription drugs are abused all the time and most pills out there are dangerous and can cause health issues in the future even if it’s not abused.
It seems like there is a pill for everything yet no one acknowledges that most pills out there are bad for you and can cause harm in the future, why?

No one is getting high off blood pressure, bone density, gout, menopause, etc, etc, medication.
The vast majority of medications are not abused to get high…however, the ones that are….I’m with you. I would like to know how it is the girls I work with who are in rehab can buy a hundred vicodin at a time, or how percocets can be had on any corner in my town….I can’t believe it comes from doctors over prescribing them….there has to be a leak somewhere.

LOL congrats on quiting though! id love to quit, but i know that it would be extremely hard because my boyfriend and most of my friends smoke, and i again like that “occasional” beer too often. lol
