Question by ?: Why do I abuse drugs and substances? Is this a disorder?
I have a habit of abusing drugs, anything from prescription medicines to hard drugs. I abuse anything like benzos or ketamine or stimulants, anything that gives me a high. Why do I abuse drugs? I have this drug seeking behaviour where I want more and more of the drug. How do I get rid of this? I know that substance abuse is linked to some sort of mental disorder. What is it? Are you feeling down? Are things just not going the way you want them to? You might be dependant on drugs to escape from reality if that is the case. You should talk to a psychilogist or drug therapist about your problem, It can get very serious if it isn’t already.

Spiritually Speaking – Drug Addicts?
Question by noiamnot: Spiritually Speaking – Drug Addicts?
I have dabbled a bit in my younger days although thankfully have never been dependent on any drug but I have unfortunately lost a few close friends to drug overdoses.
Would a person who OD’d on a bad batch of heroin go to heaven?
I have a friend who is deeply religious, goes to church all the time etc but he is a heroin addict.
So far he controls the heroin and not the other way round.
He has been an addict for over 20 years but doesn’t fit the usual “stereotyped image”.
He is wealthy, successful, charming, well presented etc…just has an addiction to heroin.
He tells me that because God knows what he does and because he doesn’t abuse heroin, rather he uses it he will go to heaven should he ever accidentally od.
your thoughts please..
