In my state, free or near-free rehab programs are funded through the Medicaid program. How that works exactly may vary by state. Try checking with your states Dept. of Mental Health (or equivalent) — drug and alcohol abuse are considered mental health issues.

There are numerous substance abuse treatment centers located around the globe. Without a location, the person’s age and drug of choice, etc., it’s impossible to list everything that he/she may be eligible for.
Edit-in with location details and age of the person.
There are many county/state rehab and treatment centers that are no-cost for people who can not afford to pay for treatment.
Sinus vs. My Boyfriend Both Are Very Stubborn .. Surgery?
Question by Olive: Sinus vs. my boyfriend both are very stubborn .. surgery?
My boyfriend has been bothered by his sinuses everyday for the past two years. It has always given him problems but it seems worse lately. It affects his sleeping and mine cause he constantly has to turn over so he can breath. I told him to go to a specialist I think surgery sounds like a good option. I was wondering how effective these surgeries are? Does it take time to heal and what is it they actually do in surgery, how is it corrected? I would appreciate personal experience stories from people who have had the surgery. Thank you for any advice!

I had the sinus surgery. It’s a last ditch effort. Your boyfriend’s sinuses may be chronic infection, allergies, or any number of health issues. All should be rules out or dealt with before considering surgery.

If Prescription Drugs Are Terribly Abused by Teens, Why Isn’t Anyone Doing Anything About It?
Question by Kaden: If prescription drugs are terribly abused by teens, why isn’t anyone doing anything about it?
Prescription drugs are abused all the time and most pills out there are dangerous and can cause health issues in the future even if it’s not abused.
It seems like there is a pill for everything yet no one acknowledges that most pills out there are bad for you and can cause harm in the future, why?

No one is getting high off blood pressure, bone density, gout, menopause, etc, etc, medication.
The vast majority of medications are not abused to get high…however, the ones that are….I’m with you. I would like to know how it is the girls I work with who are in rehab can buy a hundred vicodin at a time, or how percocets can be had on any corner in my town….I can’t believe it comes from doctors over prescribing them….there has to be a leak somewhere.
