Are Children More Likely to Drink/Smoke if Their Parents Do It?

Question by Jim: Are Children More Likely To Drink/Smoke If Their Parents Do It?
I’m not saying that the parents are addicted but if a child grows up in a household where alcohol/cigarettes are common, would that child pick up on the habit?

Are there any stats. for this?

I’ve always heard that but I’m not sure if I believe it. My parents smoked in the house when I was growing up. So far 2 out of 4 of us smoked aswell (I quit when I became pregnant). The 2 of us that didn’t smoke aren’t old enough. Then again, my mother in law smoked around her kids growing up. So far, none of her 4 kids smoke. Again, 2 of them aren’t old enough but my husband and his older brother do not. Hope I helped!! πŸ˜€
