I have a self harm addiction & sometimes I am suicidal. I am going to start therapy and I was wondering when they ask if I ever harmed myself or had suicidal thoughts, and when I tell them yes. Will they bring to me to a mental hospital? Please give me all the details. thank you.

Well if you need to go you need to go. I am a recovering massocist myself and i understand how it feels to have that urge. it sucks! best of luck to you ..you will be fine.

Not necessarily. Depends on if you honestly do have some sort of disorder. If it’s because emotions and personal things, you may be referred to a psychiatrist who specializes in suicidal feelings. Also depends on your job and age. For example, if your a doctor, your license may be temporarily suspended until they know it is safe for you to go back to work. Also since you are willingly going to therapy, you will get more leniency if they even are considering anything of the sort.
