Why Is My Brother Acting Like This Over a Girl?
Question by : Why is my brother acting like this over a girl?
Before I go further, my brother is in his senior year of high school. He’s my brother, but he’s extremely handsome; jet black hair, dark blue eyes, tall, very muscular, strong jaw line, long lashes and tanned. Suffice to say, girls in the city (in addition to every single girl in school) go absolutely nuts for him and say he’s the best looking guy they’ve ever seen. He doesn’t have an ego though, and though he could have any girl he wants, he chooses to remain single to focus on school. Just yesterday he told me about this girl in school who’s very beautiful, but she has a terrible, terrible life. According to him, she’s nice, but she never smiles, does every drug in the book, was sexually abused by her uncle, doesn’t know where her father is and her mom is a schizophrenic. She’s slept with the majority of guys in school just months after transferring into his school. I’ve seen her on facebook, and she’s pretty, but I don’t know why my brother is so taken by her. He can have ANY girl he wants in the city, why is he so attracted to a drug addicted, abused, ****? He always talks about her. Every time he comes home he always says “Oh today Jessica did this, I feel so bad for Jessica, I wish Jessica wouldn’t do this, I really like Jessica” etc. My brother isn’t the soft type to feel the need to “save” troubled girls. I mean he’s very kind, but it just isn’t him to go after girls like these. Why is he so infatuated with this one? By the way, I’m 15 and he’s 18, but we go to different high schools, and this isn’t something I want to bring up with him.

Are Children More Likely to Drink/Smoke if Their Parents Do It?
Question by Jim: Are Children More Likely To Drink/Smoke If Their Parents Do It?
I’m not saying that the parents are addicted but if a child grows up in a household where alcohol/cigarettes are common, would that child pick up on the habit?
Are there any stats. for this?

I’ve always heard that but I’m not sure if I believe it. My parents smoked in the house when I was growing up. So far 2 out of 4 of us smoked aswell (I quit when I became pregnant). The 2 of us that didn’t smoke aren’t old enough. Then again, my mother in law smoked around her kids growing up. So far, none of her 4 kids smoke. Again, 2 of them aren’t old enough but my husband and his older brother do not. Hope I helped!! 😀
